Here are my tips for doing well at the interview.
First of all: relax, be yourself, and enjoy the spotlight. Walk in prepared with specific examples, and an attitude, that prove to the interviewer your track-record in leadership, problem solving, personal impact and dedication to results. Know exactly why you want to join Value Partners, and not another consulting firm. Once in, listen carefully to the questions, and don't be shy in asking for clarifications - let the recruiter talk! Take your time in reasoning things over: there's nothing wrong with some silence. If you have a moment of hesitation, be quick to remind yourself that the interviewer wants you to succeed, and that they just need to make the more informed decision possible. Good luck!
Stages in the recruitment process
We invite candidates to between four to six interviews. The first part of each interview focuses on the candidate's drive, energy, communication skills, interpersonal skills, leadership and ability to be a good team player. The goal of this part is to understand the fit between you and us. To this end, we encourage you to ask your interviewer all the questions you have in mind about life and work at Value Partners.
The second part revolves around the business case, which is often drawn from a typical situation our clients face. With this exercise, we test our candidates' problem solving approach, in particular the ability to structure thoughts and to analyse complex situations.
The final stage of recruiting is a discussion with a Partner.
If a candidate is successful then we make a job offer.
